How to Make A Sheet in AutoCAD

In this sheet setting there are two commands used to set / make a sheet.
(1)               Drawing Units
(2)               Drawing Limits

(1)               Drawing Units

(a)                There are five Drawing Units possible in Auto CAD. Which are Architecting, Decimal, Engineering, Fractional and Scientific. We will work in Architecting Unit so let us set it.

(b)               Syntax
Click on Format menu
Select Units Command from Format menu
Change Decimal Drawing Unit into Architecture Drawing Unit in the form / window
Change precision / scale into 0’ - 1/8” in the form / window.
Press OK button

Note: - Drawing Units’ Short Cut is “UN”. Same window is opened by typing UN in command bar

(a)                After setting Drawing Units, one needs to set the Drawing limits. Drawing Limits means to locate a specific area on the screen where one has to draw a drawing / object.

(b)               Syntax
Click on Format menu
Select Drawing Limits’ Command from format menu
Press enter in the Command Bar without typing any thing for one time only.
After pressing enter, give the limits you required e.g. 200”, 200” 500”, 500” or 1000”, 1000” its upto your work / requirement. For feet use (“) this sign is used. Means 1” will be considered as one feet. Moreover, without (“) this sign 1 will be considered as one inch only. For inches, one needs not to mention any signs with numbers. Any numbers written without sign will be considered as inch / inches. Like 1 means one inch and 10 means ten inches.

a.                   Meanings
Zoom and All are two commands and these commands are used to justify the drawing. After setting drawing units and limits, one needs to Zoom All the screen. For this, two short cuts are used.
(1)               “Z” means Zoom
(2)               “A” means All

b.                  Syntax
Type “Z” in command bar and press enter first
Type “A” in command bar and press enter again

Note: - This will justify the screen area and the area that will be appeared on the screen will be the center of your drawing.
